A quick shout out to Leslie, who just passed her qualifying exam. Congratulations, Leslie! We celebrated with some wine and cake.

We went back to Foothills park for another lab picnic. It was a beautiful day, much cooler than when we were last there in August. We saw a couple of red-tailed hawks and a pocket gopher.

Last night the lab carved up some jack-o’-lanterns and tried some of Trader Joe’s finest pumpkin-flavored offerings. (photo credit: Leslie)
