• discussing new analysis methods with Bogdan see post

Data backups

• robocopy — useful built in windows copy function for command line: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733145.aspx
• Copying files less than 100 MB from (should include all mlists and conventional images), from RAID2 to 4TB fantom drive ‘AlistairBackup’ using new matlab wrapper of robocopy.
• fantom drive AlistairBackup doesn’t want to display its name in Finder (though other properties still record it). Also the original Backup folder I made on this drive is invisible and I can’t make it visible. (Finder reports “F:\ is empty”, even though “F:\Backup\” is not empty and I can browse stuff. Stupid Windows. And I think this is the Hitachi drive that gave me trouble before.
• Zipping Research folder, copying to GRAID
• Set windows automatic backup, nightly at 3 AM, operates on Research folder (and music and pictures).
• configured new RAID drive. May want to reformat as a project2 data-drive, we’ll see who needs these 22TB it first.
• copying Confocal data to GRAID. Let’s delete this from D drive when done so there’s more space on D for nightly backups.

Reorganizing drives

• changed shelves. Moved all 4 8-bay RAID stations to shelf above monitors
• sorted all cables. Added an additional power strip. Now all 7 of my RAID/data arrays can talk to the computer at once.
• cleaned and sterilized desk and keyboard

Presentation prep

• (rehearsing presentation, 10a-12p)
• put in real DAMID data for epignetic borders.
• wrote script to smooth and normalize chromatin profiles
• revising presentation based on feedback
• 95% confidence bounds are too bright, not enough contrast

Project 2

• annotating data sets (see post)
• sent annotations to Jeff

Chromatin data analysis

• fit chromatic bead data for recent multi-color data sets
